Celebration of Slavic Literature and Culture in Kamchatka
On May 24, 2025, the Kamchatka Philharmonic Hall "Oktyabrsky" will host a special concert in honour of the Day of Slavonic Writing and Culture. This event is a celebration of the spiritual unity of Orthodox peoples, dedicated to the Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius.
The concert promises to be a memorable one, with a variety of performances lined up. The Cossack ensemble RUSS, directed by Elena Topchiy, will take the stage, along with the border guard song and dance ensemble of the FSB of Russia's Eastern Arctic region, POGRANICHNIK KAMCHATKI.
The highlight of the concert will be the Kamchatka Choral Capella named after E. Morozov, led by Feodosiy Dernovich. Dernovich is a laureate of international competitions, and his talent is sure to shine in this special performance. Elena Topchiy, an Honored Cultural Worker of Russia, will also be directing the concert.
If you're interested in attending, it's important to note that invitational tickets are required for the concert. These can be obtained at the specified locations: the box office at 65 Lenin Street, and the Galant-Plaza shopping center (Entrance No. 1).
Admission to the concert is free, making it an accessible event for all. For more information, you can contact the organisers at 47-82-47.
The Day of Slavonic Writing and Culture has been recognised as a state holiday in Russia since 1991, symbolising the importance of preserving and celebrating our shared cultural heritage. We hope you'll join us in Kamchatka for this special event.
